One of the Macroscope Initiative goals is to provide a critical view of today’s mainstream media, given its role as a tool of manipulation that fosters public apathy, reinforces dominant narratives, and ultimately hinders the development of awareness and agency needed to confront contemporary global challenges.  It calls for a move beyond this media-driven consciousness towards a more active, embodied, and critically engaged way of relating to the world.

Here are some suggestions to start our collaborative explorations:

Launched in 1996, Democracy Now! produces a daily, independent news hour hosted by award-winning journalists Amy Goodman and Juan González. It provides a diversity of voices speaking for themselves, providing a unique and sometimes provocative perspective on global events.
